What is Pranic Healing
Pranic Healing is a structured system of complementary energy healing developed and taught by Grand Master Choa Kok Sui.
It is based on the understanding that the human body possesses a natural ability to heal, and that this process may be supported by working with prana—the life force that animates all living things.
Through a practical approach that includes scanning, cleansing and energising the body’s energy field, Pranic Healing seeks to support physical, emotional and mental well-being while complementing appropriate medical care.
Today, Pranic Healing is practised in more than 100 countries by people from many cultures and professions who share an interest in healing, personal growth and service.
The Two Bodies
Every human being has not one body but two.
The first is the visible physical body — the one we can see, touch, and feel. The second is the invisible energy body — called the bioplasmic body or aura. The aura interpenetrates the physical body and extends a few inches beyond it.
These two bodies are intimately connected. What happens in the energy body eventually manifests in the physical body. This is why Pranic Healing works — by addressing the energetic root of a condition, the physical body is supported in healing itself more quickly and more completely.
According to the teachings of Grand Master Choa Kok Sui, most physical and psychological conditions appear first as disruptions in the energy body — before they manifest physically. By the time a condition shows up in the physical body, it has already existed in the aura for some time. Addressing it at the energy level is therefore both faster and more fundamental.
Prana — The Life Force
Prana is the Sanskrit word for life force — the invisible energy that animates all living things. Without prana, the physical body cannot survive.
Prana is known by different names in different traditions. In Chinese medicine it is called chi or ki. In Tibetan Buddhist medicine it is called lung — vital wind. In Japanese healing traditions it is called ki. In Western esoteric traditions it is called etheric energy or vitality. The names are different. The reality is the same.
Prana is drawn from three primary sources — the sun, the air, and the ground. It is absorbed by the energy body continuously and distributed to all parts of the physical body through a network of energy channels called nadis and energy centres called chakras.
The Chakras
Chakras are the energy centres of the human body. They are like power stations — each one responsible for energising specific organs, systems, and psychological functions of the body.
GMCKS publicly described the 11 major chakras of the human energy system in 1987 in his book Miracles Through Pranic Healing. In 2000, in his book Achieving Oneness with the Higher Soul, he revealed the existence of a 12th chakra — located approximately 12 inches above the crown of the head. This is the chakra of the Higher Soul — the energy centre through which the soul connects to the physical self.
Within Pranic Healing, understanding the chakras is fundamental to the practice. When a chakra is over-energised, under-energised, or congested with used-up energy, the corresponding part of the body or aspect of the psychology is affected. Pranic Healing works directly with the chakras to restore balance and vitality.
How Pranic Healing Works
Step One — Scanning
The practitioner scans the energy body to identify areas of imbalance — places where the energy is depleted, congested, or disrupted. This is done by sensitising the hands to feel the energy field. With practice, this sensitivity becomes reliable and precise.
Step Two — Cleansing
Used-up, dirty, or imbalanced energy is removed from the aura and the affected chakras. This step is essential. GMCKS was very clear on this point — energising without cleansing first is like painting over a dirty wall. The result will not last.
Step Three — Energising
Fresh prana is projected into the energy body to replace what has been removed. The body then uses this fresh energy to accelerate its own natural healing processes.
These three steps — scanning, cleansing, energising — form the foundation of every Pranic Healing session, from the most basic to the most advanced.
What Pranic Healing Can Help With
Pranic Healing has been applied by trained practitioners to support people experiencing a wide range of physical discomforts, emotional challenges and psychological stress.
It is intended to complement appropriate medical care and is not a substitute for diagnosis or treatment.
Every individual is different, and outcomes may vary depending on the nature of the condition and the overall health of the individual.
No Touch. No Belief. No Prerequisites
Pranic Healing requires no physical touch. The practitioner works entirely with the energy body — which extends beyond the physical body and can be worked on without contact.
Pranic Healing does not require belief. GMCKS was direct about this. He said — it works on the same principle as electricity. You do not need to believe in electricity for a light bulb to turn on. Pranic Healing works the same way. The energy follows the law. The body responds.
Anyone can learn Pranic Healing. It has been taught successfully to doctors, nurses, teachers, engineers, homemakers, monks, students, and business professionals across over 100 countries. No special sensitivity is required. No prior experience is necessary. The Basic Pranic Healing course is two days. By the end of those two days, every student is working with the energy body.
Distance Healing
One of the most remarkable aspects of Pranic Healing is that it works equally well at a distance. The energy body is not limited by physical space. A practitioner in Mumbai can work on a person in Leh, or in London, or anywhere in the world — with the same effectiveness as an in-person session.
Distance healing has been practised by trained Pranic Healers around the world for many years and forms an established part of the Pranic Healing system.
It reflects the experience of trained practitioners and the teachings of Grand Master Choa Kok Sui, developed and refined through decades of practice.
Begin Your Journey
Whether you are seeking healing, curious about Pranic Healing, or exploring a deeper path of meditation and inner development, everyone begins with a first step.
We invite you to discover Pranic Healing through your own experience—whether that first step is receiving a healing session, attending a Basic Pranic Healing workshop, or joining us in Ladakh.
Pranic Healing is like a recipe. If you follow the recipe correctly, you will get the result. It does not matter who you are or where you come from. The energy follows the same laws for everyone.
